Visqueen

Clear visqueen is a plastic polyethylene sheet that is used as a vapor barrier.  A 4 mil thick visqueen is used in residential thermal vapor barrier applications for exterior walls and ceilings.  The visqueen is stapled in place after unfaced fiberglass batts are installed in the exterior walls and ceilings of a house.

A 6 mil thick visqueen is used for wine room vapor barrier applications.  The visqueen is stapled to the warm side of the wine room walls and ceiling before or after the insulation is installed.
